FAQ

Common questions

Why does a US jobs report matter for crypto?
Because crypto trades like a risk asset most of the time. Rate expectations move the dollar and they move liquidity, and BTC tends to follow. You do not have to believe that correlation is permanent to want to know that CPI drops in ten minutes.
Which events are in the calendar?
The releases that actually move markets: CPI and inflation prints, central bank rate decisions, employment and jobless claims, GDP, PMI and similar indicators, across the major economies. Each event carries its country, scheduled time and importance.
What timezone are the times in?
UTC, ISO 8601, with the offset on the timestamp. Convert on display, never in storage. Half the calendar bugs we have ever seen started with somebody storing a local time and then meeting a daylight saving change.
What is the difference between forecast, previous and actual?
Previous is what the last release printed. Forecast is the consensus going in. Actual is the number that lands, and it stays null until the release happens. Earlier numbers do get revised, so re-read recent events instead of assuming they are frozen.
How far ahead can I see?
Depends on your plan: 14 days on Startup, 90 days on Streamer, the full horizon on Custom. Past events stay queryable, which is what you want when lining a price series up against what was released.
