FAQ

Common questions

Which exchanges and markets are covered?
More than 20 exchanges and over 21,000 markets, spot and derivatives, all under one normalized symbol format like BINANCE_BTC_USDT. If a venue you need is missing, ask. Adding one is usually connector work on our side rather than a change on yours.
Should I use REST or WebSocket?
Use WebSocket when you care about every tick: live charts, order book state, anything that reacts to price. Use REST for snapshots, backfills and anything you can cache. Plenty of people run both, sockets for the live view and REST to fill the gaps after a disconnect.
How far back does the OHLC history go?
Depends on the market, and on what the exchange itself kept. Long-running pairs on major venues go back years. A pair that listed last month obviously does not. Candles start at one minute and you can page back through them for backtests.
What are the rate limits?
Startup is 5 requests per second, Streamer is 15, Custom starts at 30, each with a burst allowance on top. Separately there is a daily REST credit allowance and a daily WebSocket data allowance per plan. Going over does not cut you off, it gets metered and billed.
Can I get full order book depth, not just top of book?
Yes. Order book snapshots and incremental updates are both available over WebSocket, and you can pull a snapshot over REST. Keep an eye on your daily GB though, because depth streams are where WebSocket bandwidth actually goes if you subscribe to a lot of markets at once.
